Kiran slept all the day yesterday, and he woke up early today. He woke me
up. It was too early and I want to sleep again. But he was not letting me.
Kiran was energetic as usual and has no symptoms after being sick for a whole
day. I and Kiran were fighting on his mobile in such a way that everyone in the
room woke up because of noise we were making.
He was constantly messaging someone and I found that it was a girl's name and I did not stop. Who is that girl that you are chatting early in the morning? He was hiding his mobile and saying nothing.. no one... But still I tried and at last he was tired and he said 'It's Kavitha!'
'Mmh.. Kavithaaaaa (Poem).!! What a sweet name?', He was almost trying to hide his smile but I caught it. I can see that he likes her but suddenly I remembered that we never came across girl named Kavitha. I almost shouted 'Who is this? I never heard about someone called Kavitha!'
'Wait Arjun! I will explain. That Friday when you went home...’
I interrupted him, ‘One day I was not here and you have hidden all this from me.. I am hurt..!'
'Let me speak! You stupid!' I was listening. 'That Friday when you went home, Pari's cousin Kavitha was there to visit her...'
I interrupted again with my eyes opened wide 'Pari's cousin??'
'Yes' he continued, ‘I was very surprised because I knew her already. She was my class mate back in school.’ I was listening with all interest ‘I recognized her as she was my good friend then.’
I asked, ‘She knows Telugu???’ with my eyes opened wide.
‘Yes she does! Her mom and dad are from Andhra as well as Pari’s Mom.’
I never knew that Pari’s mom was from Andhra. Kiran knows everything about her but I am the one who always dreams about her. That was the reason Pari knows Telugu. That was the reason Pari understands our living style. That is the reason her friends call her ‘Acha telugu ammai (Perfect telugu girl)’.
‘So, when she was there, Pari was surprised to see us both speak like that. So we met again after years and we were again friends. And that day onwards we speak every day. It is like we have the same frequency which tunes us together. I started liking her in a way that I can’t resist keeping her away. I don’t know what’s happening! And Arjun, do not dare telling about this to Pari. If that happens, I will kill you.’
‘Oh my God Kiran! How did you hide this from me? You are not at all a good friend.’
‘Arjun! It is not like that. It is just that I was not clear and I am not but I like that’ He smiled and I too smiled.
All our roommates congratulated him as if he was getting married. We made fun of him and he blushed all the time. I was in a feel that I was neglecting my buddy, but the truth he was busy because of someone else. I am glad I came to know, and then I remembered about me and Pari. Why did I hide it from him! He did not hide anything from me. I decided to crack this news to him but I need some time to add courage.
We were at office canteen. Pari was texting someone. She was sitting beside me and the other side was Kiran. He was trying to see whom she was speaking to but she managed to hide it from him. I accidentally saw that the person with whom Pari was chatting “Kavitha”. I was little surprised. So, Kavitha is the person whom Pari frequently speaks with. I went back through the days and found out facts. This was the reason he was always interested in Pari’s mobile. The person who is going to be in trouble was not me alone but Kiran too. Oh No! What is written for us. I am worried as well as happy for him. I wish strongly that we both end with success in our lives.
Things in my life were stagnant once. I wanted flow to come, but this day looked like over flow to me. But I am confident that I and Kiran will surely find some way to fulfill those.. The future is for us and we will face it with all our strength.
