I was looking for someone. Cool breezes
were touching me. The place was my school play ground. I liked the place so
much. I used to play there and had lot of fun. But I was just standing there
alone, waiting.! And I could hear that someone was approaching, I was not able
to see. It was too far for me to see clearly. I was still standing
there wondering who was that. I can see that it was a man, he was coming near
me. I cannot see his face and then a lady joins him. They were coming near. I
was watching them in astonishment, the lady was Parineeti and I dont know
who the man was. My heart started beating heavily. They approched me. Parineeti
was about to introduce him to me and my mobile rang. I ignored it. But its
volume went higher and higher.
I realised that my mobile was ringing really.. and I woke up from my dream.
The cool breezes were from
the air conditioner and the place was my bed.
My heart almost stopped
because of that dream.
Why am I always thinking
her with another person if I want to be with her. What's wrong with me.!
It was my brother, Radha.! I lifted the call with a sigh of relief.
'Arjun..!! Am getting
engaged on saturday.!'
'What.?' I shouted. Kiram
woke up as I shouted and was looking at me as if what wrong has happened. I
assured him that nothing's happened,asked him to sleep again and I went
out to balcony.
'What are you speaking
Brother.? Have you got mad.!'
'No, am not. Asha's dad
agreed after a long time of struggle and he wants us to get engaged
immediately. So, we have planned for the same on this Saturday.'
'This Saturday.??'
'Yes, we also met Poojari
garu(Priest) and he too agreed.'
'Oh.! I am surprised.! Why
is Uncle in such hurry.?'
'Arjun.! I am already 27.
Did you forget.?'
I laughed out. 'Okay. So,
are you happy for this.?'
'Yes.' He said it loud.
'Congrats
Annaya(brother).!!'
'Thanks raa.!('Thank you'
in an affectinate way)'
And we spoke about the
arrangements. He wanted me to be there by saturday morning.
I was happy for my brother,
But this weekend I will not be in Bangalore.. near her. So, there are no
chances of miracles to happen this weekend.
We were seated at the canteen.I have to break this news and I did.
'My brother is getting
engaged this Saturday.'
'This Saturday.!' Shiva
asked.
'Yeah. It was a sudden
decision.'
'Oh congratulations.!'
almost every one said it.
'Am I the one who is
getting married. Why are you wishing me.??'
'Its because YOUR BROTHER
is getting married and its your turn next.'Neha added.'And you were too
speaking about some gal freind last time.!!'
I dont know how to escape
this situation. 'I was just making some fun that time. Thats all.'
Kiran said, 'These days u
have been behaving crazy and you are standing more time in front of mirror. You
are eating less.!' Every one was looking at my plate. I was
feeling embarrassed.
Kiran continued 'You have
been sleeping less and you are doing all new stuff. What is all this.? Are you
getting ready to get married.?'
'Kiran.! Please stop brother.!
I am speaking about my brothers marriage and you are spaeking about mine which
is not going to happen in near future.'
'Arjun.! I can see you are
feeling good if we speak about your marriage.'
'Stop it Kiran.!'
And the discussion went for
few minutes and I was trying to escape from there. Parineeti diverted us.
'Is it an arranged one.!'
'It is both arranged as
well as love.!'
'Oh, how is that
possible.?'
'Asha, she is my cousin.
They have been thinking about this match from a long time and atlast my uncle
agreed. My brother likes her so much. Thats how this happened.'
There were manys question
about my brother and Asha, I was happy to answer them.
Parineeti said 'Hope I too had a brother or sister.!'
I enquired, 'Why do you
feel like having one.?'
'I want to see them getting
married.' She smiled.
'Yeah. I am feeling great
that he is getting married.'
The day was really unexpected. And the dream most unexpected. I was thinking about my brother and Asha, they knew each other for about 25 years and they will really make a good couple. What about mine, Its just 10 days and I have feelings getting stronger for her. How did this happen to me.
