Teja was smiling at me. I could see that its a fake one. He was still standing at the door, I wanted to kick him out. I told him "You can leave now!". His smile got wide and he asked me for the keys again. I went inside, handed him the keys of the new home. He was speaking again "I really need your mobile number." He smiled. I gave him my mobile number. He started speaking again and I was thinking when he will leave, "It's really hot today. Can I have some water, please?". I gave him a water bottle from the refrigerator, he almost emptied it and went away. Finally!
I had a shower, cooked food, finished eating and sat in front of the television. I was watching movie songs. Still, it felt boring. I used to spend my weekends with Anshu and Anvesh. I really miss them today. I messaged them both but no reply.
Teja spoiled my day saying that I have to leave this penthouse as soon as possible.
I was recalling those memories in this penthouse. Anshu and I had funny fights. We had cooking competitions. We fought for the last ice cream scoop. We made our flat a disco on Friday nights. We watched movies or series till midnight. We gossip about anything till midnight. We shopped for long hours. We teased Anvesh together. It was so much fun.
I started browsing those pictures from the past. I was looking at the pictures from Sheela's party before she left to USA. Sheela is my other roommate. She left 2 months ago. And we didn't find another roommate. It's only me now in this big penthouse. It never felt big before. Still, I don't feel like leaving this penthouse. It has been my home from the time I started working here in Delhi. Do I really have to vacate this penthouse? I came across the pictures from Anvesh's birthday. We applied the cream on his face, made him give funny poses for pictures, he didn't even fight back, he sat there and was feeling bad that we spoiled his face. Anshu always treated him like a small kid whereas she was just 2 years elder than us. Anvesh always complains about that. Anvesh was so cute in those funny pictures, just like a kindergarten kid.
I received a reply from Anshu "What? Are you sure?".
My message to her was "Ganesh's cousin Teja surprised me this morning. He wants me to vacate our penthouse. He is the landlord."
I replied back "100% sure. Vennela to give more details at the party." I sent a copy of our contract to her.
Her reply was "Woh! It is real. I checked with Ganesh. He knows that he bought a property but he is surprised after learning that it is our penthouse."
She was busy and the immediate message was "Really want to call you but busy. Catch you later!"
I was relaxing, thinking about what to cook for dinner and was roaming in the empty penthouse. I received a message from Anvesh.
